WELCOME TO DEVCICH HISTORIC FARMSTEAD
One hundred years ago, in a remote part of the beautiful Kauaeranga valley in New Zealand, Simun Devcich, purchased
a block of land and created a farmstead. Simun Devcich traded with kauri timber loggers and gum diggers who lived in bush camps
in the upper Kauaeranga valley. The original trading post, its buildings and chattels still remain.
The Devcich Farmstead is recognised as one of New Zealand's treasured historical sites, receiving a category one status from
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga (HNZPT) for its significant historic and cultural value.
We invite you to stay at the Devcich Farmstead, experience the history and life on a working farm.
Relax and enjoy the breath taking scenery of the Kauaeranga Valley, its river, bush and mountain ranges.
The Devcich Farmstead is a 15 minute drive from Thames and 90 minutes from Auckland and Hamilton airports.
It is an ideal base to do the Pinnacles Walk and explore the Coromandel Pennisula, its stunning coastline,
unique arts and craft scene.
